The Hunting Log
REMEMBER WHEN! That's a statement we often hear when hunting friends are discussing hunts that have taken place a short time past, or many years ago. Some parts of the hunt might be remembered, but most of the details have long been forgotten. Do to this hard learned lesson, I have been keeping a Hunting-Log on my dogs for many years. Any time a friend wants to know what month, day and year a certain hunt took place, I can look in my Hunting-Log and give him much more information than he could ever remember. Because of the great interest Hunters have shown in the Hunting-Log, we thought we would make them available to all devoted Hunters that want to keep a factual record of their sport. The Hunting-Log measures 5 1/2 by 8 1/2 and has a silhouette of a hound standing on a tree. The first page inside has a space for the owner's name, address and year, plus spaces for your personal dog's name, age and registered number. Also, space for dates of interest. The one hundred and fifty, (150), inside pages have the month, day, year, hunting territory, type of terrain, hunter's names, dog's and hunter's names, game treed, game killed, boars, sows, dens, holes, time and length of hunt, game feeding on, weather and space for comments. In the back pages of the Hunting-Log there are thirty, (30) pages to record (DATES TO REMEMBER). It is suggested that you keep dates of; (Female heat period), (Whelping dates), (Date dog wormed), (Date dog inoculated), (Any accidents), (Tattoos), (Distinguishing marks), and etc...These pages have month, date, and year, with spaces to write all information. These HUNTING-LOGS will become cherished memories for many years to come. They will be useful from year to year to remind you of which hunting territory has the most game population. This personal HUNTING-LOG can record the history that's often forgotten. It's a reminder of the times spent hunting with friends, and for years to come it will be read by you and your family.
